May 2024 Gun Auction Executive Summary
The May 2024 auction reflected strong collector interest in military service rifles and carbines, classic Colt handguns, European military pistols, and traditional lever- and pump-action firearms. M1 Garand and M1 Carbine variants were especially prominent among the curated bidder-interest results, alongside Lugers, Colt Single Action Army revolvers and 1911-pattern pistols.
A Japanese Type 99 sniper rifle produced the auction’s highest firearm hammer price at $4,400, followed by a Colt Single Action Army at $4,200 and a Knight's Armament SR-15 at $3,200. Other standout results included a Steyr AUG/SA at $3,000 and an FN SCAR 17S at $2,800.
Bidder-interest rankings also showed sustained attention for the Winchester Model 1897 trench-style shotgun, H&R and Springfield M1 Garands, Standard Products and Winchester M1 Carbines, the Mauser C96 Broomhandle, and Pedersoli 1874 Sharps. Several of these firearms appeared across more than one curated ranking.
