COLLECTOR NOTES
The Winchester Model 1897 is an early exposed-hammer pump shotgun designed by John Browning and associated with American sporting, law-enforcement, and military use. Original configuration, barrel length, markings, and condition are critical to collector value, and surviving examples retain strong Old West and trench-gun-era interest even when configured as sporting guns.
