Rock-Ola U.S. M1 Carbine .30 Carbine

ROCK-OLA U.S M1 CARBINE 30 CAL. CMP CERTIFICATE Semi Auto Rifle, 18" Barrel, Very Good Condition, Shiny Bore, Tight Action, sn:1687675 This scarce M1 Carbine was produced by Rock-Ola in late 1942 or early 1943 and includes a CMP certificate—the gun was obtained from the CMP in 2008. The gun is mostly correct, with many original Rock-Ola parts; the barrel, stock, and receiver are all Rock-Ola, with no rework markings or import stamps. It has an adjustable rear sight and a bayonet lug that was added after the war. The hammer and magazine catch appear to be wartime replacements marked B/R. The slide is marked Rock-Ola, as are the trigger housing bolt and trigger. The stock and two-rivet hand guard are both marked "RMC" with the proper cartouches. The bore is strong and shiny. Detailed markings: bolt, slide, and trigger are marked "Rock-Ola"; magazine catch marked BR/FLAT; hammer marked BR/Sear, R/Trigger; stock marked Cannons, RMC Sling well, barrel marked "Rock-Ola 5-43 P", the hand guard is marked "RMC", recoil plate and firing pin marked "Rock-Ola", extractor marked "R", the Type 2 push-button safety is unmarked. Includes an original WWII khaki "C" tip in excellent condition, a in-stock oiler, and the original field manual (not a reproduction). Also includes one rare 15-round "Rock-Ola"-marked RC-type magazine, one "SW"-marked 15-round Winchester magazine, one 15-round magazine marked IS with a canvas two-magazine carrier marked RUBON K.C. 1942, and gun sock. The lightweight, handy profile that made it a favorite among WWII support troops continues to appeal to collectors of military firearms.
